What Washington Square Park Taught Us About Teen Health

Yesterday, we hit Washington Square Park with pink mics, pink iPhones, and a few big questions. Fifty+ conversations later, one thing was crystal clear: people care deeply about the health of young women.

We spoke with moms, aunts, and OG feminists. They weren’t shy about wanting this next generation to feel good in their bodies. Over and over, women in their 40s and 50s told us the same thing: It’s going to be okay.

Then we talked to Gen Z — and wow. They’ve had enough. They spoke about the pain that gets dismissed, the confusion around birth control, and the frustration of navigating a system that too often gaslights them. They’re more informed than ever… and more disillusioned.

We even spoke with teen boys, and they surprised us in the best way. Many knew about periods, hormones, and tampons. The only major mystery? Pads. (We’re working on it.)

What we saw loud and clear: young people aren’t okay with the status quo. They want real answers. Real support. A space to ask the “weird” stuff — without shame. Dahlia is building exactly that.
